Pennsylvania National Breakout Player of the Year: Savon Sutton

Quite possibly the best feature of Sutton a 6’4, class of 2023 PG’s game is how he always plays with an even keel. He rarely shows emotion and his overall decision-making is at an elite level. In addition, he is one of the few prospects in the country that brings an honest effort at both ends. He is a solid on-the-ball defender and he is even better as a help-side defender. He has gotten stronger finishing around the basket and his ball skills have improved as well.

He continues to displayed his ability to quietly dominate a games and he led his team in every major statistical category scoring, rebounding, assists, steals & blocks this past high school season - all while playing within his team's system.

The future NIKE EYBL guard does it all with a blue collar attitude and a high level understanding of how to play the game. He makes an immediate impact on every game, where his combination of toughness and basketball I.Q. allow him the ability to perform and give his squad whatever it needs that day.

There is a consensus among college scouts that what makes this kid special is his ability to adapt his game and figure out how to fill his teams needs that leads to victory; some nights it is scoring other nights it is a defensive stopper and then again it may simply be running the squad without turning the ball over. Although he may need to continue to improve his strength in order to transition smoothly to the high major level, he brings so many other positive intangibles to the table that he will find ways to contribute while this aspect is fully developed.

At 6’4 he has ideal size to operate as a big lead guard and the shooting, scoring and creativity to move down a number and carry the squad on the offensive end. Sutton already has several colleges inquiring about him but is tracking as a Power 5 Conference Player. Look for him to breakout this summer if he is ultimately able to step onto an EYBL floor.
