Cam Whitmore takes unofficial visit to Virginia Tech visit with Head Coach Young & Coach Frazier |
Cam Whitmore, the 2022, 6-foot-7 small forward from Odenton (MD) who is
competing on the NIKE EYBL circuit for Team Melo (Baltimore, MD.) this spring
and summer and attends Archbishop Spalding High School, took an unofficial
visit to Virginia Tech on Feb. 15 and spent time with the Hokies head guys Head
Coach Mike Young and Associate Head Coach Chester Frazier.
As P2bball.net took a deeper look
into Whitmore’s recruitment we noted that in addition to Va. Tech, Whitmore is receiving
interest from several high major institutions across the country including
Maryland, Purdue, Notre Dame, and Georgetown among many others.
Cam Whitmore is exploding on the
national scene and his recruitment is following suit. After this summer its simply a question of
when not if the major recruiting engines such a ESPN, SCOUTS, RIVALS &
247SPORTS pick up on this ultra-talented wing by rightfully placing him on their
respective TOP 100 list. The kid is
simply too good to miss and ultimately they certainly won’t – he’s a kid whose
talent can’t be denied.
Whitmore,
is an explosive scoring wing who has a knack to score at all
three levels. He scary in transition and has the speed, length, and bounce to
finish and play in an area that only a few guys can. If the defense closes the lane he is able to
slasher with the best of them and has a solid 1st step to the basket which is
enhance by great footwork.
He can finish with either hand and overall he has a
terrific knack to score, especially in the painted area. His mid-range jump
shot is solid and he can knock down the 3-point shot consistently especially
off the catch and shoot. He can face-up his opponent and either take the jump
shot or explode to the basket. Defensively, he has the length and strength to
be a disruptive defender, especially off the ball.
One
of the DMVs top Prospects and a POY candidate as 2022 player speaks volumes
about his trajectory; as the area itself is widely considered one of the best in
the country.
Put
the name Cam Whitmore on your list – he checks the boxes and is a player you
will hear more from in the coming months without question.
