Brayon Freeman ~ Make Sure You Put Some Respek on His Name

Brayon Freeman has officially placed himself  onto the national discussion after a scintillating weekend in the Middle School All-American Game as well as the Basketball Spotlight Future Phenom Camp.   Freeman was in attack mode as soon as he walked into the gym.  The look in his eye spoke to him wanting to compete and show that he didn’t just belong; but that he was one of the best on the floor.

When it comes to scoring guards Freeman has all the tools. First and foremost he plays with a great deal of confidence; you can see in his eyes he is fearless and ready to compete.  With exceptional length he has a great court presence. No doubt he passes the eye test.

His scoring mentality is evident every time he touches the ball as he looks to attack his defender. An excellent athlete who plays hard, he's a big-time shooter in every since of the word displaying solid mechanics that speaks to hours in the gym – always a natural shooter we are seeing combination moves into shots and well as your simple one step / two-step dribble pull-up showing a strong fundamental base to his game.

Freeman can score from anywhere on the floor. In transition he sprints the wing and is a threat to get all the way to the rim and finish through contact if a defender is present or shoot his jumper that could vary from a mid-range pull up in the lane or a deep 3 ball. He is very good at using his length around the basket and in the paint to get his shots off and we look his creativity with the ball as a shooter scorer and ball-handler.

He can shoot off the catch after receiving a screen or get his own shot by breaking his defender down off the deck with the bounce. He is great at creating space with his multiple crossovers and hesitation moves to escape from a defender and can always rely on this to get to the basket with his ability to go right and left.  We see no reason why intellectually or skill wise why he can’t be a high level scoring lead guard which we feel is his final destination; right now he is already one of the top combo guards in the class.
