NYBL's Lucky 7's - Moseley, Spencer, & Pierre Class of 2019 Stars

Isaiah Moseley – Moseley is a terrific scorer that attacks the rim both in transition and in the half court especially from the wing and top of the key. He does a great job of finishing through contact and drawing fouls where he makes the defense pay by knocking down free throws. Moseley also makes his presence on the defensive end and can be considered a stopper.  Isaiah is a true prototypical shooting guard with great size and strength. What makes him special is his deep shooting versatility off the catch or dribble and his ability to get on a role and knock down two or three in a row before the defense knows what hit it.  A very special player who hails from Canada – as good as he is as a player he is an even better person.  Moseley is a game-changer program maker and can be considered one of the best in the country at his position.  Moseley participates in the Canadian Olympic developmental program and his skill set shows every time he steps onto the court and/or into a huddle.  We love his game, but his upside is off the charts – able to play both back courts positions he can be posted, isolated or work within a set.  Moseley is a high level performer who is a certifiable future star; and already one in the NYBL and class of 2019.

Korbin Spencer – Many young players do not remember Rex Chapman – but P2 does.  Spencer is a deceptively bouncy athlete with a strong frame for the combo-guard position. He's a relentless competitor at both ends and is always in attack mode. It's not uncommon for him to grab a defensive rebound and lead the fast break. His decision making is quite good and he's capable of running the lead guard position if needed.  Spencer excels in the open floor where his economy of motion and breakaway athleticism allow him to cover the court and rise up for explosive finishes. In the quarter court he makes defenders pay with his range which is consistent out to 25-feet.  With a laser quick release he can run off screen, dribble drive pull-up, or catch and shoot in a split second.  He has surprisingly great length and agility to go with a tremendous work ethic and a love and passion for the game.   In Session 3 of NYBL and the recent Glory Tournament in DC he more than held his own against some of the top players in the class in country.

Myles Pierre – Pierre is a long and strong combo-guard; who is very skilled and can score in a variety of ways anywhere inside the arc with his superior mid-range game and strength. Pierre knocks down jumpers off the catch and can make scoring plays off the dribble like a prolific scoring wing. He shoots over smaller defenders and out quick’s smaller ones.  He is a guard you can post ala Rod Strickland and do damage in the half court situation but he is also lethal in the open court where his ball-handling, frame/strength, and moves on moves make it almost impossible to stop him in one on one situations.  Bring help and he shows tremendous vision and passing ability.   We love his creativity offensively; and his ability to play at different speeds and score effectively against man, zone and in space.  Pierre plays with a high level of energy and possesses excellent all-around skill. His size at the combo guard position forces match-up problems for opponents as he has the ability to score behind the arc as well.  We have seen glimpses of explosive scoring ability and as he transitions full time to the lead guard position this fact will make him an even more attractive player moving forward.

Jordan Toles - JUST RELEASED: FIRST IN GAME DUNK

Prolific Performance Basketball prides itself on being the preeminent source for youth basketball news.  Just received today from one of our premier field reporters is a video of the nation’s #3 rated class of 2020 member Jordan Toles out of the Baltimore, Maryland performing his first in game dunk (click below).  Only one other 6th grader to this point has done this on a national stage - UNTIL NOW!

Toles, who less than 48-hours ago was named as a Gold Member of the NYBL’s Scorers Club for his extraordinary efforts during their resent Session 3 in Louisville, Kentucky continued his legendary status in New Orleans this weekend playing with Entertainer Percy Miller (AKA Master P) and his showcase travel squad The P. Miller All-Stars.  In the video below America can view Toles first ever in game dunk caught off of a break away steal.

Toles who has dunked in practice and other settings put it together on this occasion and it has been caught on tape – see if first here by clicking below.

Toles is far more than a dunker or athlete; he is one of the country’s most exciting and prolific scorers.  A a pure scorer who can put the ball in the basket in virtually every way. He makes threes in transition and with deep range, is equally lethal starting the break himself or filling a lane, is smooth and efficient going to the rim with no wasted motion but exhibits great body control when necessary to finish.  He works both boards and his coast to coast finishes are fast becoming a legendary staple for him.  In the half court he gets to the rim consistently north to south and is strong enough to finish thru contact; he finishes explosively at the rim showing a deadly combination of mid-range pull-up and versatile paint finishes.

One of the most fun and exciting player in the country watch rumor has it that he will be teaming up with Shemar Morrow, Kyree Walker, and other top 2020 players as part of USA National Select mid-June – stay tuned for future reports on this – and stay tuned for what is sure to be more exciting dunks and highlight from this bubbling superstar.

BREAKING NEWS A STAR IS BORN – NYBL & God First’s Isaiah LeBlanc

LeBlanc is a fearless competitor out of Houston, Texas - He has a very good feel for the game and matching basketball IQ. He also is a great decision maker when being pressured. In Session 3 of the NYBL Isaiah made his biggest statement yet averaging 20ppg, 5 rebounds, 3 assist per contest – a testament to his growth and versatility.

Throughout the weekend and season LeBlanc has shown a propensity to make plays off the dribble especially in the arc and has exhibited a very solid and mature mid-range arsenal.  Already possessing great length he is an underrated athlete – his cerebral nature may be his most potent weapon as he thinks the game and sees plays develop well before they happen.  He has been well trained and drilled as evident with the way he attacks defenders; the lost art of working out of the triple threat is a phase of LeBlanc‘s game that is a pleasure to watch.

LeBlanc led his team to a 5-0 record in Session 3 of NYBL and was amazingly consistent each and every time out; far from a volume scorer Isaiah shot a solid percentage on his way to getting his numbers – he already realizes the value of getting to the line and using defense to create his offense.  His impressive frame is still growing and it appears he'll be a versatile 3-man at the next level. He plays much bigger than he is, due to his wingspan and hand size. He has a smooth stroke out beyond the stripe and frankly as good as he is now his best days are in front of him.  As the title states a star has been born; but just wait until this baller grows up – you can see him next at NYBL Session 4 where his stock will rise further with a solid play off performance.

Zion Harmon & Jaden Springer – A Glorious Pairing in the Nations Capitol

Zion "The Lion" Harmon & Jaden "The Beast" Springer

To win a championship, you need a team effort. This has been proven time and time again in the sport of basketball.  Yet for all of 2014 in the class of 2021 the premier match-up talked about all season long has been Harmon vs. Springer – this was even highlighted and featured on Middle School Hoops.

So for now, let’s forget about team effort and focus on two players who have made history with the amount of success that they have either brought amongst each other or to their teams.  There has not been an event in the country this year that Team Glory and W.A.C.G have played together in that they have not met in the championship.  In Washington DC this past Memorial Day weekend these two top players in the class of 2021, Zion Harmon and Jaden Springer came together; this time not to compete against one another but to play alongside each other UP AN AGE GROUP IN THE 2020 CLASS!

As individuals each are prolific scorers, prime time time defenders, and leaders on the floor.  As teammates this dynamic duo creates possibly the best 1-2 punch in any class in the country.  As the national rankings are perused we see no other case outside of the Oakland Soldiers (2020) who have not lost all year at their age group with their full roster and the USA National Select Team which is not a formal AAU group, where two of the top players in a particular class are paired together.  This shows you truly how special these types of pairings can be.  This weekend was no exception and was no let down as the two played beautifully together and complimented each other as they terrorized the opposition while winning the Championship in the 6th grade age group as 2021 kids.

Springer remains a lethal combination of size and skill and is a site to see in the open court, his motor is next level and he is a man-child on the offensive and defensive glass.  We are equally impressed by the athleticism he exhibits and his ability to guard multiple positions.  He can beat defenders off the bounce and has an improving mid-range game. He continues to punish opponents going to the basket on the break and in the half court where he finishes as well as any player in the class.  Defensively he uses his length to dominate the passing lanes and is an excellent shot-blocker especially from the weak-side.  He is a game-changer and his ability to affect the game is multiple ways and categories is next level - points, rebounds, steals, assist, blocks he does it all, Springer is the ultimate stat sheet stuffer.

Harmon most often defined as a scoring combo-guard, and while he has the ball skills and capability to play the point, he's in his natural habitat when he's looking for his own offense. While he puts points on the board in all three ranges/levels, his mid-range game is especially impressive especially as you watch him adjust his attack depth levels during the course of game - never allowing defenses  to get a read on him.  As a 5th grader Harmon has been playing an abundance of games; successfully we might add, at the 7th grade level where he has shown his ability to act as a facilitator and floor general in addition to remaining an effective scorer.  Bringing this experience back down to the 5th grade level he  continues to make and impact, but the way in which he is making the players around him better has expanded to an out of this world level.

Needless to say seeing these two together live is better than anything we can put on paper - we can only hope that there will be more opportunities to see the “Beast” and “Lion” on the court together in the future.  For true basketball junkies if you need an immediate fix; Harmon and Springer will be teaming up in Charlotte, NC at the Southeastern Cup with USA National Select 2021 May 31st and June 1st

Until then enjoy the video below courtesy of Middle School Hoops.

Exclusive Membership to NYBL Scorers Club – Only Real Players Need Apply

There's nothing as good as watching a pure scorer do their thing, especially at the youth level.
Pure scorers make things look easy on a daily basis. These young men can finish at the rim but they can also take their games out to the perimeter and do everything in between you want and need.
We also enjoy the power game here, so big men who dominate the paint also make the list. A smooth-looking jumper isn’t a necessity here but it sure helps, what will also get it done is the ability to pretty much score from anywhere on the floor.

There are three level of Membership to the NYBL Scorers Club:

Platinum Membership – Players who have exceed the 30-point total
Gold Membership – Players who have exceeded the 25-point total
Silver Membership – Players who have exceeded the 20-point total
Bronze Membership – Players who have exceed the 15-point total

All these players during Session 3 of the NYL made scoring look effortless.
