In the opinion of P2bball.com the REAL championship game in the Basketball
Spotlight 2022 class was between the Riverside Hawks out of New York City and
the Banneker Kings from Baltimore, Maryland. The game featured multiple nationally ranked
players going head to head for pride and bragging rights – the featured
match-up took place between PG’s Sammy Scott (Kings) & Kameron Rodriguez
(New York) and no one was disappointed as they dueled to standstill for 27
minutes and 58 seconds.
Major contributions were made by Jalen Franklin,
Donovan Leak, and Chris Scott for the Kings prior to the huge layup by Andrew Ruebottom
one of the top bigs the class of 2022 with two seconds remaining in the game.
With no timeouts Riverside’s Kameron Rodriguez (#4 Class
of 2022) received the ball and well, the rest is history….pulling up from
beyond the half court the stripe the all world PG rose and up showed the crowed
why he is considered one of the best game changers in the game, knocking down
game winning shot.
Rodriguez simply refused to let his Hawks squad lose
even with the Banneker Kings doing all it took to win!
Our staff covering the event/game determined that
without question this game served as the 5th grade championship game
thus we name the Riverside Hawks Champions of the Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic
5th grade division and the Banneker Kings as the second place
runner-up.
If you missed it; see the exciting end to this
fantastic game below!
